About us:
Dig It For Dave is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We hold an annual memorial sand volleyball tournament in honor of our friend and family member, Dave Mueller, who was violently assaulted in June of 2013. He was taken off life support on July 7, 2013.
Dave was a very active, fun loving friend and a very devoted family member. He believed in the purpose and vision of United Way, and it is there that we donate part of our proceeds in his memory. From 2014 to 2018, our tournament registrations helped us donate over $16,000 to United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County. Between 2016 to 2018, we also donated $12,000 to Cedars' 5-0 Fun Club, which partners at risk youth with local law enforcement to build relationships in the community. Since 2018, we have continued to support both organizations, with a large portion going to Cedars' youth programs/recreational activities, intake assistance and short term residence areas. We have donated over $70,000 to our community since we began.
